Boot scooters
Light and portable. They fold or come apart to fit in a car boot. Best for short trips, shopping and holidays.
Class 2 pavement scooters
For pavements only, up to 4mph. More comfortable and with a longer range than boot scooters.
Class 3 road scooters
Can travel on roads at up to 8mph, with lights and indicators. They must be registered with the DVLA, which is free. We help you do it.
Range
Range is how far you can travel on one charge. Hills, cold weather and heavier loads reduce it, so choose a scooter with more range than you think you need.
Storage and charging
You'll need a dry place to keep your scooter and a normal plug socket nearby. Many batteries can be removed and charged indoors.
Insurance
Insurance isn't a legal requirement, but we recommend it for theft, damage and third-party cover. Your consultant can point you to suitable policies.
